Selena Gomez was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, the only child of the family of Ricardo Gomez and Mandy Cornett, a former stage actress who gave birth to Selena at the age of 16 years. His parents divorced when he was 5 years old, in 1997.
Gomez started her acting career at the age of seven years, played Gianna on Barney & Friends. He said that he learned "everything" about how to act when in the show. Series 7 of Barney & Friends, Selena Gomez when he was at the event, held for some time.
